Berkeley College in Clifton, and Joseph Charleman, CRCST, CST, CSFA, LPN, of Sussex, NJ, Chair, Surgical Technology and Surgical Processing Technician programs, Berkeley College School of Health Studies, have received the Patriot Award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
Nominated and presented by Carlos Sanchez, CST, U.S. Navy Reserve 1st Class Hospital Corpsman and Professor, Surgical Technology and Surgical Processing Technologist programs, Berkeley College School of Health Studies, Mr. Sanchez cited Mr. Charleman’s support in covering his classes when he is called to military duty, as well as his support of Berkeley College students and the community at large.
Berkeley College in Clifton was recognized for its support of Guard and Reserve employees, realizing the nation relies heavily on service members since entering continuous operations more than a decade ago. The Department of Defense Patriot Award honors the sacrifices made by Berkeley College as an employer.
In presenting the citation to the College, Mr. Sanchez said, “Thanks to Berkeley College for supporting the troops from all branches of service, as well as for its support of our nation and our students. This award recognizes the College’s contribution to our national security, freedoms and liberty.”
Mr. Charleman was honored to be nominated and receive the award. He thanked all veterans for their service.
