Bechelli Named NJ Government Relations Director for American Cancer Society

Cherry Hill resident Jade Bechelli has been named the New Jersey government relations director for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). In this post, Bechelli will oversee advocacy efforts promoting evidence-based policy and legislative solutions designed to eliminate cancer as a major health problem.

Before joining ACS CAN she served as director of policy to Majority Leader Louis Greenwald in the General Assembly Majority Office. She also served as a Democratic Committee Aide to the Assembly Education Committee and the Assembly Budget Committee.

Jade previously served as the Legislative Director to Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald and Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt.

“New Jersey is facing crucial health care issues, including assuring that everyone, no matter where they live, has access to cancer screenings and appropriate treatments.” said Bill Sherman, managing director of government relations of ACS CAN. “Jade brings us a wealth of experience to help ACS CAN work to save lives and diminish suffering from cancer. She has maintained positive relationships with state leaders in all levels of government and advocacy.”

“ACS CAN works every day with government leaders and volunteers on crucial issues to help save lives and defeat cancer,” said Bechelli. “I look forward to being part of the ACS CAN team to advocate our evidence-based policy proposals to our government leaders.”

Jade is a graduate of The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management where she earned a master’s degree in political management. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Arcadia University in political science and women and gender studies.

She lives in Cherry Hill with her husband Chris, daughter Matilda and stepson Lincoln.
