Morristown-based Beacon Trust Company has promoted Valerie O. Murray to chief operating officer. In this position, Murray will be responsible for initiatives across the organization related to client services, technology, marketing and operations. In addition, she will work closely with the president and management team to implement the company’s strategic plan and oversee initiatives to improve efficiency and enhance the overall wealth management offering for its clients.
Murray has more than 20 years of financial industry experience. Prior to joining Beacon Trust in 2011, she was senior vice president and senior trust officer at US Trust in New York City. During her tenure with US Trust, Murray administered high net worth relationships and successfully transitioned clients through two mergers and acquisitions, including Charles Schwab’s acquisition of US Trust in 2000 and Bank of America’s acquisition of US Trust in 2007.
Murray received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Bucknell University and is a certified financial planner (CFP®). She also attended New York Bankers Association (NYBA) schools for Trust Administration, Estate Administration and Fiduciary Taxation, and the American Bankers Association (ABA) School for Wealth Management & Trusts.
