Avison Young Completes Project Management for Langan’s New Headquarters in Parsippany

Avison Young, the world’s fastest-growing commercial real estate services firm, today announced that that the company’s Project Management Services group has completed an extensive build out for the new corporate headquarters of Langan Engineering & Environmental Services, a premier consulting firm with nearly 1,000 employees and 25 offices worldwide. The 76,866-square-foot (sf) space is located at 300 Kimball Drive, a newly renovated office building in Parsippany.

After more than 20 years in Elmwood Park, Langan relocated its headquarters, which currently employees more than 300 professionals, to Parsippany. Avison Young was retained early in the design phase to provide project management services including the hiring and management of consultants, client vendors and the general contractor. Working closely with the architect and engineers, Avison Young coordinated the completion of the design process, and made recommendations for potential pre-purchase, long-lead items, as well as furniture planning and installation oversight. Avison Young also submitted drawings for permits, created the budget, schedule and executed contract management. Importantly, Avison Young played a key role in helping Langan meet its critical move-in deadline over the Thanksgiving weekend last November.

“Avison Young provided great value to Langan throughout the entire move and build out of our new space in Parsippany,” said David T. Gockel, president/CEO of Langan. “Ed Walsh, John Mercurio, and Sarah Paddock partnered with Langan and the design/construction team to make 300 Kimball a great success for our employees.”

Throughout the relocation, Avison Young also provided a number of specialty services including LEED coordination (certification slated for spring 2016), pre-purchaser coordination of lighting and carpeting, and coordination of low-voltage power.

“Avison Young’s knowledge of constructability, means and methods were valuable assets in resolving field issues, greatly contributing to the  success of Langan’s new headquarters,” stated Edward S. Walsh, Principal and Managing Director of Project Management Services in Avison Young’s New Jersey office. “Our team possessed the unique ability to manage all aspects of the project, with our expertise enabling us to present solutions to the design team, contactor, and client that kept construction moving forward.”

Situated in Parsippany, one of New Jersey’s foremost business markets, 300 Kimball Drive is a premier 400,147-square-foot office building. The building recently underwent a capital improvements program that included the renovation of its lobby, bistro and fitness center, as well as numerous green strategies bringing the building the honor of LEED silver certification.
