Association Member Trust is the Rebranded Name for NJBIA Health Benefits Partner

Association Master Trust, a not-for-profit, multi-association benefit trust formed to serve the group benefit needs of currently 17 independent trade associations, including the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), changes its name to Association Member Trustsm (AMT).

According to Harvey Mishkin, chief operation officer at AMT, “The new name and branding strategy better communicates the fact that we exists to benefit our 17 member associations and their participating businesses.  Our plans are designed to give small businesses more options with better service at lower costs. In the belief that healthcare consumers should expect and get more, we put our profits into improving our plans.”

The name comes with a new tagline, “More Options. More Health,” and an intricate interlocking flower icon that represents the 17 AMT member groups and the strong partnership they form with AMT.

AMT was established in 1979 and was the successor of the New Jersey Fuel Merchants Association Insurance Trust. Today, it offers self-funded health and dental benefits programs, combining employer units of its member participants, to maximize claim stability, administrative efficiency, cost savings and a full menu of comprehensive benefits.

Even though AMT’s plans are self-funded, aggregate and specific stop loss protection for health claims is provided by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey to limit loss exposure. Horizon also provides AMT with medical claims processing and managed care services, as well as member access to the Horizon provider networks. The Delta Dental Plan of New Jersey provides AMT with dental claims processing services as well as member access to their dental provider networks.

Among the customer service benefits one experiences with AMT is you never has to dial an 800 number. Each member company gets a dedicated AMT representative for one-on-one service.

AMT also returns dividends to members, when finances allow. Over the last nine years, $17.5 million has been returned to members.
