Area Charities Gifted $735K During 2023 by Kearny Bank

A total of $735,500 was donated to charities by Kearny Bank during calendar 2023. Made through the Kearny Bank Foundation, these contributions went to organizations in New Jersey and New York. For the past five calendar years (2019-2023), Kearny Bank has contributed $3,636,724 to charitable organizations.

In 2023, the largest single donation was to Junior Achievement of New Jersey, which received $140,000. In addition, the Meadowlands YMCA received 30,000, while Habitat for Humanity of Morris County and Fairleigh Dickinson University each were gifted $25,000. Other highlight contributions during 2023 included $20,000 to the Historical Society of Ocean Grove and $18,000 to the National Council for Jewish Women.

“We take great pleasure and pride in supporting a range of programs that help communities in which we conduct business,” says Craig Montanaro, Kearny Bank president and CEO. “In fact, since our founding 140 years ago, we’ve been committed to charitable giving. These most recent donations continue our longstanding tradition of trying to make people’s lives better.”

The KearnyBank Foundation divides its giving into five distinct categories – Education, Community, Quality of Life, Housing, and Scholarships.

Earlier this month, at an event in Florida, Kearny Bank was among a number of financial institutions recognized by the New Jersey Bankers Association with a 2024 Community Service Award for community outreach and positive societal impact.
