AICPA ‘Standing Ovation’ Program Honors Jessica Giresi of WithumSmith+Brown

Jessica Giresi of Princeton-based WithumSmith+Brown PC (Withum) was recently honored by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) with a Standing Ovation Award for her achievements in the specialty practice areas of forensic accounting and business valuation. The Ocean County resident is among the nation’s top 25 CPAs age 40 and under recognized at the AICPA’s 2016 Forensic & Valuation Services (FVS) Conference in Nashville.

The Standing Ovation program acknowledges young CPAs who exhibit outstanding professional achievement in highly specialized service areas, such as forensic accounting and business valuation. Standing Ovation FVS nomination criteria include maintaining an active CPA license, membership in good standing in the AICPA and holding either a Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) or Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) specialty credential. In addition, nominees must be 40 years old or younger.

“Jessica was honored this year for having demonstrated significant accomplishments in the areas of forensic accounting and business valuation,” said Jeannette Koger, CPA, CGMA, AICPA’s vice president of member specialization and credentialing. “The AICPA’s Standing Ovation program was developed to identify those CPAs who are rising stars in the accounting profession, particularly in their area of specialization.”

Giresi is a senior manager and a member of Withum’s Forensic and Valuation Services Group with over 12 years of diversified public accounting experience.  She specializes in business valuations of closely held companies for marital dissolutions, shareholder disputes, estate and gift tax, marital lifestyle and balance sheets, cash flow analysis and tax planning services in conjunction with marital dissolution and forensic accountant engagements. Giresi is a graduate of Stockton University, where she earned a B.S. in accounting.

“As a key member of Withum’s Forensic and Valuation Services Group, Jessica has demonstrated superior, intuitive knowledge and skills that extend beyond ‘traditional’ accounting and tax services,” said Kenneth L. DeGraw, CPA, CFP, CFE and Withum partner. “Widely acknowledged by industry peers and leaders alike for her expertise in forensic accounting, financial reporting, business valuation and litigation consulting, Jessica has earned this prominent well-deserved honor while helping our clients achieve a position of strength.”
