Barnabas Health Names Howard Tepper Executive Director of Barnabas Health Medical Group

Barnabas Health has appointed Howard Tepper, MBA, FHFMA, FACHE, FACMPE as executive director of Barnabas Health Medical Group, a multispecialty group practice comprised of primary and specialty care physicians with offices located throughout New Jersey.

In his new role, Tepper will guide Barnabas Health Medical Group as the organization transitions to new models of delivery and reimbursement, with an increased focus on population health.

Bonamo, MD, MS, FACOG, FACPE, executive vice president and chief medical officer for Barnabas Health. “Under his leadership, Barnabas Health Medical Group will continue to grow while meeting the health and wellness needs of the communities in which we serve.”

Prior to joining Barnabas Health, Tepper was the vice president for physician practices and ambulatory services at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson where he was responsible for the employed physician enterprise, joint ventures and clinical service lines. He also served as chief executive officer for Manhattan’s Physician Group, comprised of more than 80 physicians.  There he implemented a compensation plan based on clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction and provider productivity.

Tepper has also held leadership positions with Hackensack University Medical Center, Touro University College of Medicine and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He has extensive experience in presenting at industry conferences, and has been widely published in medical and practice management journals.

Tepper received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and information systems from Queens College of The City University of New York (CUNY), and a master of business administration from Baruch College/Mount Sinai School of Medicine at CUNY.
