U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both-D-N.J.) announced a combined total of $21,890,548.00 to universities, local school systems and boards of education, medical centers, and head start centers across the state from the New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The grants will provide funds to support medical research conducted by New Jersey universities, substance use prevention programs in local school systems, head start programs and advanced medical education programs.
“These federal funds will improve access to quality, affordable healthcare for millions of New Jerseyans across the state. When investments are made into the education and medical research necessary to save lives and end suffering, we are investing in our country’s present and future,” said Sen. Menendez.
“This vital federal investment will improve the health and well-being of all New Jerseyans,” said Sen. Booker. “It will strengthen research and programs that address issues such as substance abuse and addiction and bolster our public-health infrastructure.”
