BioNJ Committed to Growing Life Sciences Ecosystem

Because Patients Can’t Wait®, BioNJ’s mission is to bolster medical innovation and New Jersey’s ecosystem. The discovery and development of new therapies and cures allow patients to live longer, healthier, more productive lives – benefiting the entire healthcare system, New Jersey’s economy and society as a whole.

As the state’s life sciences trade association, BioNJ represents more than 400 members representing New Jersey’s research-based life sciences companies and stakeholders as well as academia and service providers. BioNJ is committed to the growth and prosperity of the state’s vibrant ecosystem where “science is supported, companies are created, drugs are developed and patients are paramount.”

Through their biopharmaceutical research and development, our members are uncovering new insights into how we view, understand and treat diseases, giving patients longer, healthier lives.

It is an important and exciting time for our industry and for patients. As the Medicine Chest of the World, the medical innovation being developed by our companies is changing the landscape of healthcare. BioNJ members are committed to developing and delivering innovative biopharmaceuticals that contribute significant value to:

  • Patients and their caregivers, by improving the quality of life, extending survival and curing serious disease;
  • The healthcare system, by improving treatment options and outcomes that often drive down other healthcare expenditures;
  • Society, by improving patient’s health, happiness and productivity.

Now, more than ever, BioNJ works closely with our state and federal elected officials on legislation and regulations in support of medical innovation. BioNJ also is actively engaged with patient advocacy groups, so that the voice of the patient and his or her family has an even stronger presence and greater impact in our community. It is imperative that government continues to invest in the research and development of future medical innovation as well as to ensure access to innovative medicines for our patients.

New Jersey’s life sciences industry continues to make significant strides by staying at the forefront of innovation, with more than 3,100 life sciences establishments representing more than 200,000 direct and indirect jobs, resulting in an annual economic impact of $47.5 billion.

BioNJ proudly hosts events, programs, resources and tools which encourage a robust exchange of ideas and information to advance the state of healthcare worldwide.
