Seven Reasons to Join a Mastermind Group

The goal is to build a peer group to help grow everyone’s business.

In his book “Think and Grow Rich,” Napoleon Hill talked about the concept of a “master mind alliance.” He described a mastermind group as, “a friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose.”

Over the past century, “master mind alliances” have become “mastermind groups,” but the intentions and goals are still the same.

A mastermind group is not unlike a strong peer network, whose values are very similar. While there are many reasons to join a mastermind group, here are just SEVEN:

1.     To get “unstuck” and gain a new perspective from brainstorming with a group!

2.     To increase confidence in your decisions!

3.     To validate that you are taking the right actions to achieve your goals!

4.     To tap into the experience and skills of others!

5.     To find an instant and valuable support network!

6.     To find new ways to jump-start your business and boost your everyday positive mental attitude with exercises and programs that you would not do on your own!

7.     And most importantly: TO TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL!

Great, long-lasting relationships are developed when a mastermind group is comprised of professionals who have the same core values. More importantly, an effective mastermind group creates new ideas for REAL TRANSFORMATION, which allows its members to achieve success, elevate their passion for life and work, and help them overcome the fears that hold them back.

A thriving mastermind group develops an agenda or an outline for its weekly or monthly sessions. Some groups have every member share what is working well, what is not working well, and hearing feedback from peers on strategies to meet the challenges that each individual mastermind faces. Some decide on a great business book and commit to reading a certain amount each month, sharing thoughts and actions on how to implement the takeaways from the book. And finally, some masterminds have one special project on the docket for every meeting ranging from creating a 90-day plan for creating a vision board, to writing individual legacies or learning a new social media tool.

There are many ways to become part of a mastermind. You can start your own, hand-picking your members. You can look online for masterminds in your area. Or you can use your network of contacts, including mentors or coaches, to identify a group that you can join!

The most important thing is TO GET STARTED!
