How state’s public television network has grown

NJTV News, with newly-appointed veteran broadcaster Mary Alice Williams, is considered the “crown jewel” of NJTV’s programming schedule. Former host, Mike Schneider will remains a vital part of the networks’ journalism team. NJTV News, which can be seen either on-air weeknights at 6, 7:30 and 11pm (or online at njtvnews.org), has grown exponentially since the network’s early days, covering more issue-driven news from more places. Meanwhile, NJTV News’ Chief Political Correspondent Michael Aron, aka the Dean of the Statehouse Press Corps, digs deep with his weekend public affairs series, On the Record and Reporters Roundtable.

Viewers also have access to a variety of homegrown series like Driving Jersey, Tales of the Jersey Shore, NJDocs, American Songbook at NJPAC, The Arts Project with Maddie Orton, Due Process, New Jersey Capitol Report, One-on-One with Steve Adubato, State of the Arts and Classroom Close-Up.

Additionally, NJTV Special Reports include live broadcasts of the State of the State and State Budget addresses, plus key political debates and headline-driven town halls.

With studios at the Trenton Statehouse and Montclair State University, the station enjoys relationships and content-sharing with state-wide media and content bureaus at local higher education institutions.
