NJBIA’s New Legal Hotline

Jackson Lewis P.C. to provide real-time workplace hotline to benefit NJBIA members.

Jackson Lewis P.C., a national law firm dedicated to representing management in all aspects of workplace law and related litigation, is teaming up with the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) to provide a hotline offering guidance to NJBIA members on general employment and human resource issues.

“Jackson Lewis has been a member of NJBIA for nearly 30 years and looks forward to strengthening our relationship and serving NJBIA members through this new benefit,” says Joseph C. DeBlasio, resident managing principal and litigation manager at the firm’s Monmouth County office.

The hotline is a no-cost benefit to members and can be used beginning March 1, 2016 by calling the toll-free number (844) 424-8197.

“We are excited to work with Jackson Lewis to offer our 20,000 member companies a new member benefit that will make it easier to do business in New Jersey,” says NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka.

All NJBIA members who call the hotline during normal business hours will be connected with a Jackson Lewis attorney who can assist them, in real time, with employment-related matters. Callers must identify themselves as a NJBIA member. After hours, callers can leave voicemail messages at any time.

“At Jackson Lewis, we understand New Jersey’s unique business and legal climate, and we strive to use that knowledge to add value to our clients’ business operations. Through the hotline, we hope to become a similar resource for NJBIA members,” notes DeBlasio.

If a caller is seeking advice for a specific legal problem beyond the scope of general issue identification on workplace issues, the caller has the option of retaining Jackson Lewis (subject to normal conflicts inquiries and clearance). Due to its relationship with NJBIA, Jackson Lewis has agreed to provide a discounted fee structure to the NJBIA member organization that uses the hotline service.

“Our depth of practice and resources across every aspect of workplace law allows us to provide practical guidance to employers of any size,” adds Jeffrey J. Corradino, principal in the Morristown office.

In addition to the hotline service, Jackson Lewis also will provide NJBIA members with 12 monthly human resources articles for NJBIA’s electronic newsletter, New Jersey Business Today, and will give presentations at NJBIA’s human resources seminars, including: What Would You Do? Legal Issues Facing Employers, to be held on May 13, 2016; and Avoiding the Wage & Hour Trap, scheduled for October 21, 2016. Jackson Lewis also will provide sponsorship for other NJBIA events.

With 44 attorneys located in New Jersey and over 800 practicing in major locations throughout the US and Puerto Rico, Jackson Lewis provides national and regional resources to address every aspect of the employer/employee relationship. Jackson Lewis is included in the AmLaw 100 and Global 100 rankings of law firms. U.S. News – Best Lawyers named Jackson Lewis the 2016 “Law Firm of the Year” in the Litigation-Labor and Employment category.
