Popular Culture
Flemington is home to the Union Hotel, a 200-year-old, 15-room property that once overflowed with journalists who flocked to Flemington to report on the Lindbergh baby kidnapping trial. The trial is known for being the first recorded courtroom hearing.
The historic hotel is undergoing a multi-million-dollar facelift to preserve the facade and porches. The redevelopment will anchor Main Street by adding an 85-room boutique hotel plus 206 additional apartments in a plan called Courthouse Square. The project also features a pub and a full-service restaurant – both with full liquor licenses and an event space overlooking a grand plaza with multiple first floor retail opportunities.
