Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. announces that it has entered into a Letter of Intent to acquire  Parsippany-based Finetech, Inc., a privately owned industry leader in applications and solutions in chemical control processes for asset preservation and optimized operation for nuclear power generation. Founded in 1983, Finetech is an engineering consulting firm for water chemistry and power plant and industrial water processes.

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI), headquartered in San Jose, California, is a 31-year old, employee-owned engineering consulting company. Structural Integrity has a dozen offices across the US, including four international sites. Their  integrated services include license renewal, nondestructive examination, asset management, fatigue management and stress analysis for nuclear power plants, fossil power plants, combined cycle plants, and oil and gas pipeline transmission and distribution.

“With the addition of Finetech, Structural Integrity will broaden our capabilities even further to continue providing our clients valuable, integrated and innovative solutions. Not only does Finetech complement our prior acquisition of ANATECH Corp in developing a leading reactor and fuel performance services offering, but we see many opportunities to apply their capabilities throughout our business and reach into all the markets we serve,” said Laney Bisbee, CEO of Structural Integrity Associates, Inc.

Joe Giannelli, president and co-founder of Finetech, said, “The merger with Structural Integrity will provide more opportunities for Finetech to apply our chemical engineering and chemistry expertise to assist current and new clients. We embrace this opportunity to continue our work in the nuclear power industry while taking on new technical challenges to expand SI’s capabilities as a world renowned engineering consulting company.”
