March of Dimes Names James Young as State Director for New Jersey Chapter

March of Dimes announced it has appointed James Young as State Director for New Jersey. Overseeing all of the chapter’s functional areas including fundraising, staffing, programming, public affairs and communications, Young will manage staff in three divisions across the state and coordinate with volunteers statewide to raise money to support research, education, community programs and advocacy to help moms have healthier babies and full-term pregnancies.

Prior to stepping into his new role at the March of Dimes, Young was the Regional Director of Development for the Eastern office in New York City for National Jewish Health Hospital.  He was responsible for all development activities, including special events, major gifts, and capital campaign for the country’s leading respiratory hospital. He also managed the hospital’s major fundraising event, “A Winter’s Evening” Real Estate & Construction Industries Dinner, which is one of the most successful and longest-running industry dinners in New York.

Before National Jewish Health Hospital, Young served in a variety of leadership positions for over 20 years with the American Cancer Society. During his last seven years with the Society, he served the organization as Regional Vice President, where he was responsible for relationship-building activities with volunteer board members, donors, and corporations for broad-based organizational support.

Young has a Bachelor of Arts, Public Administration degree from Kean University.   He resides in Neptune with his wife and their two children.
