Lt. Governor Guadagno Praises Mayors at New Jersey Conference of Mayors Luncheon

Applauding New Jersey’s Mayors for their dedicated efforts on behalf of their constituents, Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno yesterday delivered keynote remarks at the 52nd Annual New Jersey Conference of Mayors (NJCM) Spring Conference in Atlantic City.

“Getting the job done for your residents is your role, and mine is to make your work easier by helping state government get out of your way,” said Lt. Governor Guadagno.  “Your predecessors founded NJCM to pursue changes that would better the lives of their residents and businesses.  Over the years, your collective voices have achieved so much, and I applaud you and the organization that brings us here today.”

NJCM honored Lt. Governor Guadagno with the Cabinet Member of the Year Award in recognition of her service as Lt. Governor and Secretary of State.  In addition to panels on issues facing mayors, like flood insurance, local media and cybersecurity, the conference also hosted several New Jersey Department Commissioners for a Cabinet roundtable.

NJCM was founded in 1963 by a group of mayors who believed their collective voices should be heard in Trenton and Washington, D.C.  NJCM has since become the largest statewide organization in the nation to exclusively represent the interests of Mayors to the State and Federal Legislatures and Administrations.
