Lt. Governor Guadagno Honored New Jersey’s Fallen Soldiers at Memorial Day Ceremony

In recognition of Memorial Day, Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno joined the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to honor our fallen soldiers at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

“These heroes are united in their love of America, its ideals rooted in freedom and liberty for all, and the abounding promise it offers all who call it home.  Those who have been lost gave their lives for the highest and most noble cause: the safety, security and preservation of the greatest nation in the world,” said Lt. Governor Guadagno.  “We must never forget them.  We must never forget their sacrifice.”

The ceremony, held this past Saturday, included a 21-gun salute and a presentation of memorial wreaths by veteran and service organizations from across New Jersey.

The Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery is New Jersey’s sole state-operated veterans’ cemetery. It is the final resting place for more than 62,000 veterans and family members.
