Lauren H. Moore Named Executive Director of the Business Action Center

With an emphasis on nurturing the growth and ongoing success of the Christie Administration’s larger Partnership for Action economic development strategy, Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno has announced the appointment of Lauren H. Moore as Executive Director of the state’s Business Action Center (BAC).

A proven executive with more than 25 years of economic development expertise, Mr. Moore has served as the BAC’s Deputy Executive Director, and most recently as the organization’s Interim Executive Director.

“The choice of Lauren Moore to lead the Business Action Center not only ensures that it will continue to be guided by a leader with a wealth of economic development experience, but provides for a seamless transition and continuity of its critical work,” said Lt. Governor Guadagno. “His proven record on matters of business attraction and retention speaks for itself, and his reputation among industry professionals is exemplary. Needless to say, our Administration is proud to have Lauren in this important leadership role.”

As Executive Director, Mr. Moore will oversee a range of disparate economic development responsibilities. This includes, but is not limited to, leading the BAC’s collection of business advocates to encourage entrepreneurship by supporting businesses of all sizes, promoting the state’s “one-stop” advocacy services, enhancing New Jersey’s standing as a leading international trade partner, and marketing the state as an ideal tourism destination.

“It has indeed been a privilege to work with Lt. Governor Guadagno and the rest of the Christie Administration in helping to advance economic development opportunities in New Jersey,” said Lauren Moore, Executive Director of the New Jersey Business Action Center. “I am thankful for this new opportunity and I will bring passion and enthusiasm for business growth and job creation into my new role.  I look forward to furthering our business attraction and retention efforts with the talented and dedicated BAC staff and our key partners at the Economic Development Authority and Choose New Jersey as we work to spur the economy and improve the quality of life for New Jerseyans.”

Since joining the BAC team in August 2010, his efforts have been instrumental to the larger Partnership for Action securing commitments from over 280 companies to create and retain more than 75,000 jobs across New Jersey. This includes such high-profile business attraction and retention projects as Bayer Healthcare, Church & Dwight, Forbes Media, Allergan, J.P. Morgan Chase and more.

Over his lengthy career, Mr. Moore has garnered a wide-range of experience encompassing program administration, finance, regulatory affairs, environmental compliance, permit identification and commercial/industrial real estate matters. Before joining the BAC, Mr. Moore enjoyed a successful tenure at the New Jersey Commerce and Economic Growth Commission, in addition to lending his expertise to high-level economic development and planning positions for Atlantic and Mercer counties.

Mr. Moore holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from Richard Stockton College, and is a licensed New Jersey professional planner and member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).

The BAC is part of the state’s results-driven Partnership for Action.  Created by Governor Christie and led by Lt. Governor Guadagno, the Partnership is the hub for all economic development activity in New Jersey and is comprised of four interconnected and highly focused organizational elements: Choose New Jersey, the BAC, the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education and the Economic Development Authority.
