Congratulations to Our 2014 Awards for Excellence Winners

NJBIA honored 12 companies for outstanding achievements at its Awards for Excellence Dinner, held on October 15 in Edison.

The companies were selected by an independent panel of judges for their accomplishments in four categories: Business Expansion, Community Service, Environmental Quality and Outstanding Employer.Mercadien P.C., CPAs, verified the information supplied by the winning applicants.

ACCSES NJ of Trenton: President and CEO Nils Richardson (right) and Chairman of the Board Mark Boyd won the Business Expansion Award for their success in finding jobs for disabled workers.

Affinity Federal Credit Union of Basking Ridge: Affinity received a Community Service Award for developing a financial literacy program that provided 46 classes to 770 students, mostly in low-income and underserved areas.

Argo Turboserve Corporation (ATC) of Lyndhurst: CEO Clyde Keaton talks about his company’s success in helping to make New Jersey’s Junior Achievement an award-winning, nationally recognized chapter. ATC received a Community Service Award for its efforts.

AtlantiCare of Egg Harbor Township: Vice President Rick Lovering (center) accepts the Outstanding Employer Award from NJBIA Board of Trustees Chairman Matthew Wright and NJBIA President Michele N. Siekerka. AtlantiCare provided employees with an innovative health plan in which they could reduce their deductibles to $0.

Bergen’s Promise of Rochelle Park: Executive Director Dean Pastras (right) and his team celebrate their Business Expansion Award. Bergen’s Promise tripled its number of clients and doubled its staff in just two years.

Carbon Express of Wharton: President Steve Rush with Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter at the Awards for Excellence Dinner. Carbon Express won an Environmental Quality Award for its dramatic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

Hackensack University Medical Center: Sustainability Advisor Kyle Tafuri accepts the Environmental Quality Award for Hackensack UMC’s comprehensive recycling initiative, including converting 7,000 pounds of vegetable oil waste into biodiesel fuel.

Investors Bank of Short Hills: Senior Vice President and COO Domenick Cama discusses the bank’s Care-2-Share program, in which customers choose which charities they want the bank to support. Investors received a Community Service Award.

NJM Insurance Company of West Trenton: Vice President Tracey McManimon accepts a Community Service Award for NJM’s safe-driving initiatives, including the donation of driving simulators to 55 New Jersey high schools.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital—Hamilton: Manager of Benefits Judy Drumm accepts RWJ’s Outstanding Employer Award for its extensive wellness program, which included the addition of two indoor walking tracks.

Tris Pharma of Monmouth Junction: NJBIA President Michele N. Siekerka (left) congratulates Cheryl Patnick, vice president of human resources, on the company’s Business Expansion Award. Tris used innovative product research to become a 24-hour-a-day operation with more than 300 employees.

Wyndham Worldwide of Parsippany: Senior Vice President Bill Skrzat accepts the Outstanding Employer Award for the company’s global “Embracing Healthy Lifestyles” wellness program.
